The Bathing Garden: A Review

I don't even remember when or how I found The Bathing Garden on Etsy, but I believe I had just done a generic search for wax tarts and was delighted by the fun look of their product listings for the wax bricks {each scent comes with a different type of embellishment, as you'll see in the pictures}.
I have four different Scentsy warmers throughout my apartment, but buying new scent bricks was getting somewhat pricey. Luckily there are plenty of indie sellers out there who make wax tarts/scent bricks, and I plan to try out more in the near future.

:::  THE SPECS  :::

The Bathing Garden makes/sells wax tarts and a variety of soap/body products. Since I only ordered the wax tarts, that's all I can speak to at this point. Wax tarts are between $3.50 and $3.75 a piece, or you can order in value packages of 10 or 20 and save some money. I ordered a set of ten wax tarts for $30.00 and the shipping was flat-rate shipping for $10.50. At first I thought that was a lot for shipping, but when I received my package, I realized it was a good deal considering all of the extras she included with my order so that the box would be full. Shipping for single wax tarts is $4.00 for the first item and $0.50 for each additional item. I received my large order within a week, which is great. I'll offer my opinions about the individual scents after the collection of pictures.

 :::  THE OPINIONS  :::

Overall I was content with my order. The shipping was quick, the extra freebies went above and beyond expectations, and some of the scents have become fast favorites {Lavender Martini and Tinsel so far}. I should mention that a decent number of the scents are stock fragrances {which means you can find them anywhere, as they're not custom-made scents}. However, I have yet to find a wax tart seller on Etsy that sells all unique/custom scents. I haven't looked into which scents for sure are stock and which might be custom, but since they're just wax tarts and not perfume or anything, I'm completely happy with the selection. I think The Bathing Garden goes beyond just selling regular wax tarts though, both in product development/presentation, and customer service. The little details added to each wax tart make them more customized, and all of the interactions I had with the seller were fantastic. Plus, sending four full-size freebies with my order — that was awesome. So basically, if you're looking for a good replacement for Scentsy bricks, I'd start with The Bathing Garden. If you're looking for more unique, custom scent blends, you could always contact the seller and see what she offers! I believe she's taking a holiday break soon, so if you don't get a chance to order before that, be sure to bookmark the shop and check it out after the new year!

Stay Fabulous!

  1. How do these burn and compare to Scentsy cubes?

    1. I've actually tested both Scentsy and The Bathing Garden just to compare burning times and the strength of the scents -- I burned three different Scentsy scents, and three different Bathing Garden scents. The Bathing Garden scents lasted longer than each of the three Scentsy scents, by quite a bit. Of course it could be the particular Scentsy scents were just mild compared to TBG fragrances, but in my opinion, TBG produces longer-lasting tarts. One Scentsy tart in particular, Route 66, is my absolute favorite and I haven't found a dupe for it yet, so I'll probably keep buying just that one from Scentsy. However, it lasts note even half as long as my TBG tarts. :\
