Welcome to The Everyday Opinionista!
I figured it was time that I offer a little insight into my life and who I am. I don't intend for this to be my life story, or an autobiography of any sort — just a snapshot of the gal behind the blog. :}
To begin, my name is Jen, and I hail from the great state of Wisconsin. I'm a late twenty-something, currently single {focusing on myself for a while}, and I share my lovely apartment with two naughty yet cuddly cats named Lucky and Bella. I have a Bachelor's Degree in English and Political Science, and I'm about 3/4 of the way done with my Master's in Business/Marketing. While I love to learn new things, I think I'll be done with school forever after I graduate. :} I work full-time and go to school full-time, but I try to maintain a good balance between work/school and my personal life.
Other random facts: My favorite color is pink/fuchsia/deep hot pink. I want to travel to Italy sometime in the near future. I'm a grammar snob. My favorite musicians are the Beatles, David Gray, Nickel Creek and Adele, but I listen to just about anything. I love to read, and prefer memoirs, thrillers and suspense novels — two of my favorite books are "The Glass Castle" and "The Garden of Last Days." I have an affinity for handbags, necklaces, shoes and makeup. My dream jobs would be a Speech Writer for the President of the U.S., an Interior Designer working for HGTV, or the VP of Marketing for a Fortune 500 company. I have big dreams. :} Some of my hobbies include acting with a local theater ensemble, photography, spending time outdoors and trying out new DIY projects. I love watching TV shows and movies, although it's usually done via DVR on the weekends. My favorite TV shows at the moment are Modern Family, House, Suburgatory, American Horror Story and The Walking Dead. Some all-time favorites are Smallville, Veronica Mars, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Dollhouse. In terms of movies, I'll generally give anything a chance and watch it once. I especially love horror movies, though I've only been legitimately scared by two or three movies in my life — the rest I just laugh at and find entertaining.
So, as you've probably already gathered from my posts, I mainly blog about beauty and makeup products, sometimes fashion, and other times completely random ramblings. I don't claim to be an "expert" of any kind, so every blog post I write is entirely personal opinion unless otherwise noted. The various topics I choose to blog about are topics I have an appreciation for, an opinion about, or just feel like discussing for the hell of it. Maybe someday I'll narrow the focus a bit, but I enjoy having the freedom to blog about anything my heart desires.
