Black Rose Minerals No. 3 | Swatches

I love me some Black Rose Minerals. This was my third order, though I received it about three months ago already. Like all of my other purchases with BRM, I was very happy with everything. Since I've gone over the specs in my previews two posts, I'll just focus on the swatches in this one. To read the other posts about BRM, check out order #1 {here} and order #2 {here}.

:::  THE SPECS  :::

I ordered the following:
:::  A set of six sample jars for $12 {two were for me — Dusty Trails and Unicorn — and the rest for a friend}. These each come with 1/4-teaspoon in 3g jars, and you save $3 buy purchasing them in a set. I love these "create your own" options.
:::  One full-size jar of Enlightened — $6 for 1/2 to 3/4-teaspoon in a 5g jar with sifter.
:::  Received gracious sample baggies of the Luna collection as free extras.

:::  THE OPINIONS  :::

I love every single one of the shadows I ordered! The Luna collection is fantastic, and I already ordered full sizes of Luna and Blood Moon, which were my favorites. Unicorn is a great sparkly light purple, and Enlightened is a creamy off-white color with a nice edge of shimmer. Dusty Trails is a nice color, although the swatch I saw that led me to purchase this color showed a bit more sheen to it, whereas it's more matte than I thought it would be. However, I still like it! I give everything two thumbs up. :}

And More Darling Girl Swatches

Happy Sunday!

This was my third order from Darling Girl Cosmetics, so by now I'm sure everyone knows what I love about DG. This order was placed in January, shortly after "She-Bop" blush was released. Had to have it.

:::  THE SPECS  :::

In my first DG post as well as my second DG post, I listed the product details pretty thoroughly, so feel free to reference those posts as necessary. Just in case the information is still desired, here's what my order consisted of:
:::  Darling Girl Glitter Glue — 10mL squeeze tube for $6.75
:::  One full-size eyeshadow in Ethereal — 3/4-tsp in a 5g jar for $5.50
:::  Three petite-size eyeshadows in Comet, Dasher and Taupe a la Mode — 1/4-tsp in a 3g jar for $2.25
:::  Two blush samples in She-Bop and Doll Face {GWP} — 1/4-tsp in a 5g jar for $2.25
:::  Two free samples in Friday I'm In Love and Morbid Angel Spectral Shift

Shipping was only $3.00 and the order was shipped at the earlier end of the stated TAT of 14-16 business days {maybe even a few days earlier than that}. Darling Girl has always been very dependable in terms of their TAT, and the entire ordering process is extremely customer-friendly.

Also to note, Darling Girl has a new website! Be sure to check it out! http://www.darlinggirlcosmetics.com/

:::  THE OPINIONS  :::

My favorites from this particular order are Taupe a la Mode and Comet, though I love them all {as usual}. As far as the petite jars of blush, She-Bop was the reason I placed this order in the first place, as it was new {at the time} and such a lovely coral-based color. It didn't disappoint! Doll Face initially scared me because I have such fair skin — but with proper blending and application, this ended up being the perfect color for a subtly flushed glow. :}

I have one more Darling Girl swatch post coming up soon. Susan releases so many new products that it's impossible not to order more and more {and more}.

Stay Fabulous!

Dawn Eyes Cosmetics: Review | Swatches

This one is picture-heavy! :}

I was directed to Dawn Eyes Cosmetics for an awesome Black Friday sale, along with a number of reviews courtesy of some lovely beauty bloggers. Black Friday seemed like the perfect opportunity to try Dawn Eyes Cosmetics {DEC for short}, so what follows is my order from back in November. Yeah, I'm a little ashamed of how long it took to get this up, but...you know, life happens.

:::  THE SPECS  :::

One thing I like about the DEC website is that they have a whole bunch of raw-format swatch images available if you need to see colors from more than one angle before making a decision. The website itself is kind of crazy to navigate through and very visually busy, but I didn't find it too hard to make a purchase in the end. At the time of my order, everything in the store was half off; so samples that are usually $1.00 for 1/8-tsp in baggies were only $0.50 per sample when I ordered {hence why I bought so much at once}. Though I didn't order any full-size eyeshadows, you can get any of the colors in full sizes for $6.00 each. Shipping-wise, I paid $2.00 and received my order earlier than the stated TAT and shipping timeframe posted during the holidays, which I thought was awesome.

:::  THE OPINIONS  :::

I'm on the fence with my order from DEC. Some of the colors are really pretty, and apply quite nicely; conversely, some of the colors that I was looking forward to the most ended up being much more sheer than I anticipated. For instance, Holographic Pale Purple, Lively Lavender, Shock Value, Basic Blue Gold and Electric Lavender {so mostly the purple shades} were pretty sheer, even when layered over primer and a base. I would have liked to see a bit more depth to the range of colors that I purchased, but there were some stand-outs that I did like. Keepin' It Copper, Amourous and Metallic Lavender Sparkle were opaque and applied really nicely. I've also worn Conch and Amazing Base quite a few times as a light wash of color layered under other colors.

I'll probably place another order sometime down the road and give it another shot with a different selection of colors just to compare. Have you tried Dawn Eyes Cosmetics? What were some of your favorite shadows?

Stay Fabulous!
